Silicious aggregate

Silicious aggregate fulfilling the requirements of the norm PN-S-02205: 1998 Motor Roads, Earthworks, Requirements and Tests arises on basis of bottom and fly ash mixture coming from the disposal. The main component of silicious aggregate mentioned above has been written into the list of Polish Catalogue of Aggregates under the number 15.1 (the list is being continuously verified by the Road and Bridge Research Institute in Warsaw)

 Properties

Grain composition is enclosed in a range of gravel, sand and dust fractions. Fractions < 0,06mm make from 40 to 57% of sand composition. Through the sieve with 1mm spaces comes from 88 to 99% of the whole mass. Fractions below 2mm make from 92 to 99,8% of sand composition. On the sieve with spaces of 4mm stays from 0 to 4,4% of the whole mass. Bulk density is from 1,1 to 1,3 g/cm3.

Application

According to the recommendation of Road and Bridge Research Institute in Warsaw, the basic applications of silicious aggregate are in civil engineering, road construction, construction of recreation buildings and shaping grounds. In particular silicious aggregate can be used for:

  • construction of embankments,
  • improving the grain size composition of loose grounds,
  • production of fills for engineering objects,
  • production of aggregates for lightweight concrete,
  • production of ceramics,
  • production of artificial hardened aggregates,
  • backfill of deep and open cast mines,
  • reclamation, restoration, landfill.

For the product there was issued the National Declaration of Conformity supported by building sign B.
